NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY BRISBANE MILTON BROOKWATER

Introducing our Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty with Nose Thread Lifting, or Hiko nose thread lift. This procedure involves inserting medical-grade threads, typically PDO, to reshape and redefine the nose. Unlike traditional fillers, nose threads stimulate collagen, offering a refined and lifted nose tip, a defined bridge, and a sharper appearance. However, it’s essential to consider aspects like non-reversibility, potential trauma, and swelling. Nurse Jacintha will guide you through the process for informed decision-making.

Pre-Treatment Preparation

Timely Scheduling

Plan your appointment at least 1-2 weeks before a special occasion, like a wedding or vacation, to mitigate the risk of bruising and swelling after the treatment.

Medication Caution

Discontinue Vitamin E and certain supplements – cease the intake of Vitamin E and supplements like Fish Oil, Krill, Garlic, Chili, Ginseng, Ginger, and Green Teas during your recovery period.

Avoid aspirin-based products and inform medical staff – refrain from using aspirin-based products such as Ibuprofen, Neurofen, Naprosen/Naprogesic. If you are on any anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., Naprosyn) or blood-thinning medication (e.g., Warfarin), inform our medical staff for appropriate guidance.

Rescheduling for Illness

Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you feel unwell or have an active infection in the treatment area.

Pre-Treatment Precautions

Avoid alcohol and smoking – restricting alcohol consumption and refraining from smoking aids in expediting your recovery process and ensures optimal treatment results.

Post Treatment Care

Avoid Alcohol and Strenuous Exercise

Avoid strenuous activities – Strenuous exercises like running, cycling, and weightlifting raise blood pressure, leading to potential bruising, swelling, wound separation, or infection. Light exercises such as walking and gentle stretching are generally allowed, unless advised otherwise by your doctor.

AVOID HEAT

Avoid excessive heat exposure – Excessive heat exposure increases blood pressure. Post nose thread lift, refrain from sun exposure, steam rooms, saunas, hot showers, and heat-related activities. Stay hydrated and use sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Makeup Application

Avoid applying makeup for at least 3 hours – Skin sensitivity: The initial hours post-procedure involve heightened skin sensitivity. Applying cosmetics may cause irritation and discomfort. Preventing infection: Open wounds at the nose tip are vulnerable to infection, and makeup application increases this risk. Pressure: Excessive pressure during makeup application may alter the positioning of nasal threads, hindering desired outcomes.

Refrain from Alcohol and exercise

Avoid alcohol for at least 2 weeks – Alcohol’s diuretic effect expels excess water and nutrients necessary for skin healing. Refrain from alcohol consumption for at least 14 days following the nose thread lift.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT ON THE DAY?

Come to your appointment without makeup. Refrain from engaging in strenuous exercise, consuming alcohol, or smoking on the day of your appointment. If you’re feeling unwell, consider rescheduling. Prior to your appointment, have a meal and stay hydrated to reduce the likelihood of experiencing light-headedness or dizziness during your treatment.

AM I SUITABLE TO RECEIVE THIS TREATMENT?

You may not be eligible for skin booster treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have open sores in the treatment area. Additionally, individuals with uncontrolled medical conditions such as diabetes and blood clotting disorders may not be suitable candidates. Those prone to excessive fluid accumulation in the under-eye area leading to puffy eyes, severe bee sting allergies, planning international travel within two weeks, recent surgery within 8 weeks pre-appointment, or major dental work two weeks pre or post-treatment may not be suitable candidates for filler treatment.

SHOULD I GET DERMAL FILLER OR NOSE THREADS?

The choice between nose filler and nose threads depends on individual circumstances. In most cases, nose filler is preferred for its precision, less traumatic nature, and full reversibility by clinicians experienced in non-surgical nose reshaping. Dermal filler is highly precise, reversible, and avoids damage to native nose tissue.

Nose threads may be suitable if your nasal bridge lacks structure and projection, particularly if there is no dorsal hump. However, dealing with a dorsal hump can pose challenges with nose threads, as the rigid needle used for insertion cannot navigate around the bump without causing issues.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I GET NOSE THREADS?

Opting for nose threads allows for periodic repetition of the treatment every few years. As you undergo additional treatments, the intervals between sessions can often be extended, thanks to the cumulative effect of collagen buildup.

ARE NOSE THREADS REVERSIBLE?

Nose threads, with the exception of a type called Aptos, are irreversible. Aptos threads can be partially removed using a hook, but other variants require surgical intervention for removal. In cases of complications or dissatisfaction with the results, reversing the treatment can be challenging.

DOES THIS MEAN I WILL HAVE A THREAD IN MY NOSE FOREVER?

Nose threads are crafted from PDO (polydioxanone), a biocompatible and bioabsorbable material. These threads have a temporary nature.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF NOSE THREADS?

Our non-surgical rhinoplasty offers enhancements in the following aspects:

  • Establishing a higher nose bridge
  • Lifting and elongating the top of the nose
  • Refining the appearance of the nostrils

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW WHAT I NEED TREATED?

Nurse Jacintha specialises in comprehensive full-face rejuvenation and is adept at evaluating your facial requirements. Schedule a complimentary consultation with or without treatment on the same day, and begin the journey toward realising your desired results.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS AND HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

The implant effect typically endures for approximately 9-12 months before being completely absorbed by the body. Meanwhile, the collagen stimulation effect persists for up to 18 months.

In contrast to fillers, which may exhibit a worsening appearance over time, threads actually enhance in appearance as they dissolve within 6-12 months. The neocollagenesis they induce contributes to the formation of the structure responsible for lifting and defining the bridge.

ARE PDO’S THE SAME AS A THREAD LIFT?

No, the PDO filament threads utilised in mono threading stand apart from the conventional barbed threads commonly employed in thread lifts. Unlike thread lifts, the primary objective of mono threading is not tissue lifting but rather to encourage skin tightening. This approach aims to enhance firmness, restore fullness, and address concerns such as fine lines, sagging, and signs of ageing. This minimally invasive procedure is specifically designed to smooth, support, and rejuvenate targeted areas, leading to overall improved skin conditions.

HOW MUCH PRODUCT DO I NEED?

Everyone’s needs are unique, and the ideal amount of product for the best results depends on factors like volume loss and muscle strength. In our friendly pre-treatment consultation, we’ll chat about your specific requirements, and we’ll also consider lifestyle factors. To achieve the results you’re looking for, it might take a few treatments, making sure we tailor our approach to meet your individual expectations.

WHAT ARE THE COMMON SIDE EFFECTS?

Following PDO mono thread treatment, potential side effects may encompass redness, swelling, itching, bruising, bleeding, and a potential risk of skin infection. Some individuals may perceive a slight tightening sensation during specific facial expressions as the threads settle, though this sensation is generally minimal.
