Pre-Treatment Preparation

Timely Scheduling

Plan your appointment at least 1-2 weeks before a special occasion, like a wedding or vacation, to mitigate the risk of bruising and swelling after the treatment.

Arnica Tablets

Consider taking Arnica tablets one week before your appointment to help prevent and minimise bruising.

Medication Caution

Refrain from using anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications, such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDs, 5-7 days before treatment, unless directed by your GP or specialist.

Cold Sore Prevention

If you have a history of cold sores and are getting a plasma treatment around the mouth, consider taking antiviral tablets the day before or on the treatment day to reduce the likelihood of developing a cold sore post-treatment. These tablets can be bought over the counter at a pharmacy without a prescription.

Rescheduling for Illness

Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you feel unwell or have an active infection in the treatment area.

Pre-Treatment Precautions

Avoid strenuous physical activity or excessive alcohol intake 24 hours before your treatment, as it heightens the risk of bruising.

Post Treatment Care

Makeup Application

Avoid makeup application for 12 hours, unless using Dermaceutic K Ceutic.

Refrain from Alcohol and exercise

Refrain from alcohol and strenuous exercise for the next 24 hours.

Avoid

Avoid exposure to heat treatments like sauna, hot tub, or tanning for up to 48 hours post-treatment. Stay away from exfoliating products (scrubs, AHAs, BHAs, Vitamin A) for the next four days.

Medication Considerations

Immediately use Dermaceutic K Ceutic post-procedure to conceal redness and bruising; available for purchase in the clinic.

Refrain from blood thinners and anti-inflammatories like Aspirin and Nurofen; Panadol is a suitable alternative.

Swelling and Bruising Management

Expect swelling for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment; sleep elevated to reduce it.

Skin Treatments Postponed

Refrain from facial waxing, bleaching, or hair dying for the next two weeks.

Enhance Results with Skincare

Gentle fingertip massages can help clear lymphatic fluid.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT ON THE DAY?

Come to your appointment without makeup. Refrain from engaging in strenuous exercise, consuming alcohol, or smoking on the day of your appointment. If you’re feeling unwell, consider rescheduling. Prior to your appointment, have a meal and stay hydrated to reduce the likelihood of experiencing light-headedness or dizziness during your treatment.

AM I SUITABLE TO RECEIVE THIS TREATMENT?

Plasma Therapy may not be suitable for you if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to local anaesthetics, or have certain skin conditions and diseases, including facial cancer (past and present such as SCC, BCC, and Melanoma), systemic cancer, chemotherapy, steroid therapy, dermatological diseases affecting the face (e.g., Porphyria), blood disorders, platelet abnormalities, anticoagulation therapy (e.g., Warfarin), platelet dysfunction syndrome, critical thrombocytopenia, hyperfibrinogenemia, hemodynamic instability, sepsis, chronic liver disease, hepatitis, or any acute or chronic infections. Additionally, individuals with heart problems, anaemia, or methemoglobinemia may not be suitable candidates for this treatment.

WHAT DOES THE VAMPIRE FACIAL DO FOR THE SKIN?

Plasma Therapy is a cosmetic procedure involving drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting it back into the skin. Plasma Therapy is renowned for its potential rejuvenating effects on the skin, offering various benefits:

  • Collagen Production: Plasma Therapy contains growth factors that stimulate collagen production, enhancing skin structure, firmness, and elasticity. This can result in improved skin texture and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Tissue Repair: Plasma Therapy accelerates the natural healing process, promoting tissue repair and regeneration. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with scars, acne scars, or sun-damaged skin.
  • Skin Tone and Texture: Plasma Therapy contributes to a more even skin tone and improved texture, addressing issues like uneven pigmentation, roughness, and dullness.
  • Reduced Signs of Aging: By promoting collagen synthesis and enhancing overall skin health, Plasma Therapy therapy can contribute to a more youthful appearance and may reduce the visible signs of ageing.
  • Minimise Pores: Some individuals report that Plasma Therapy helps minimise the appearance of enlarged pores, contributing to smoother-looking skin.

HOW DOES THIS TREATMENT HELP WITH HAIR LOSS?

Plasma Therapy for hair utilises the patient’s own blood to stimulate hair follicles, promote hair growth, and enhance overall scalp health. Here are some potential benefits of Plasma Therapy for hair:

  • Hair Follicle Stimulation: Plasma Therapy contains growth factors that stimulate dormant or weakened hair follicles, encouraging the growth of new, thicker, and healthier hair.
  • Increased Blood Flow: The growth factors in Plasma Therapy enhance blood circulation in the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles receive an adequate supply of nutrients and oxygen for optimal function.
  • Hair Thickness and Density: Plasma Therapy may contribute to an increase in hair thickness and density, enhancing the overall appearance of the hair.
  • Hair Follicle Repair: Plasma Therapy therapy supports the repair and regeneration of damaged hair follicles, potentially reversing the effects of conditions like androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness).
  • Reduced Hair Loss: By promoting hair follicle health and reducing inflammation in the scalp, Plasma Therapy may help minimise hair loss.
  • Combination with Hair Transplants: Plasma Therapy is often used in conjunction with hair transplant procedures to enhance the survival and growth of transplanted hair follicles.
  • Improvement in Scalp Conditions: Plasma Therapy can contribute to an improvement in certain scalp conditions, such as dandruff or dry scalp, creating a more favourable environment for hair growth.

WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS FROM PLASMA THERAPY?

Final results from the treatment are typically visible within 2-3 weeks, but you may notice some improvement in skin tone and texture as early as a few days after the procedure. Your skin will continue to show improvement over time as you progress through your treatment program.

WHO IS PLASMA THERAPY SUITABLE FOR?

  • Fatigued and dehydrated skin
  • Skin sagging and pigmentation
  • Fine lines, wrinkles, and under-eye circles
  • Enhancement of overall skin texture and tone
  • Thinning hair
  • Individuals seeking a more natural approach

HOW MUCH PRODUCT DO I NEED?

Everyone’s needs are unique, and the ideal amount of product for the best results depends on factors like volume loss and muscle strength. In our friendly pre-treatment consultation, we’ll chat about your specific requirements, and we’ll also consider lifestyle factors. To achieve the results you’re looking for, it might take a few treatments, making sure we tailor our approach to meet your individual expectations.
