EXCEL V+ LASER FOR SPIDER VEINS

Prior to your appointment, have a meal and stay hydrated to reduce the likelihood of experiencing light-headedness or dizziness during your treatment.

Before considering Excel V+ Laser for spider veins, it’s important to assess if you are a suitable candidate. Please note that if you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, have taken oral isotretinoin (a prescription acne medicine) in the past 6 months, use anticoagulants, or have undergone gold therapy, you may not be suitable for the treatment. Additionally, individuals with vitiligo, a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring, or those with open wounds should exercise caution. Keep in mind to maintain a minimum distance of 6 inches from Pacemakers/Defibrillators and avoid treating over dysplastic nevi or questionable pigmented lesions. Also, refrain from treating areas with tattoos or permanent makeup, metal or electronic implants, and if you are undergoing treatment for skin cancer.

The Excel V+ laser works by delivering laser energy into the skin, which is absorbed by the vessels, generating heat that causes them to collapse. This damaged tissue is then naturally transported out of the body without harming surrounding tissues. Small superficial veins are not needed for healthy circulation, and your clinician will check that the veins being treated are suitable for laser.

Our Excel V+ CoolView laser is the fast and easy way to treat visible veins, discoloration and wrinkles. Excel V+ is a dual-wavelength laser platform used for vascular and pigment concerns. 

Our Cutera Excel V+ CoolView laser treats more than twenty unique aesthetic and dermatologic skin concerns. The most common concerns include rosacea, facial and leg spider veins, age/brown spots, and acne scars. 

Your dermal therapist will select the Excel V handpiece on our Cutera device and customise the treatment settings to target the colour and depth of your skin concern. Most treatments are finished in just a few minutes, and results are typically seen after a series of 1-3 treatment sessions. 

Although the ExcelV+ Vascular Laser is successful in addressing diverse vascular issues, it may not be applicable to all types of veins. This laser is specifically designed for smaller, superficial veins, including spider veins or certain facial veins that are less than 3mm wide and display blue or purple colouring. It’s important to note that this treatment is not suitable for raised veins or varicose veins.

The degree of discomfort encountered during ExcelV+ Vascular Laser treatment is subjective and varies among individuals. Typically, patients describe a sensation resembling a rubber band snapping against the skin with each laser pulse. While many find the discomfort bearable, individual pain thresholds differ, and we may employ cooling methods or topical numbing agents to enhance overall comfort.

The number of sessions needed for ExcelV+ Vascular Laser treatment varies based on factors such as the size and severity of the vascular concern, individual skin characteristics, and treatment goals. While some patients may notice improvement after a single session, achieving optimal results often involves a series of treatments, typically ranging from 1 to 3 sessions.

Results from ExcelV+ Vascular Laser treatment for spider veins are often visible shortly after the procedure, but the full outcome may develop gradually over a few weeks.

The duration of results varies from person to person. While some individuals may enjoy long-lasting benefits, others may need periodic maintenance treatments to sustain the results.

Lifestyle factors, genetics, and the nature of the treated veins can influence the longevity of results. During your consultation, your healthcare provider can offer more personalised information based on your specific condition and discuss expectations regarding the timing and duration of results. Following any post-treatment care instructions is crucial to optimise and maintain the outcome.

Vascular and pigment laser: Common, temporary effects include redness, swelling, bruising and darkening of treated spots before they flake away. Less commonly, blistering, crusting, burns, infection, changes in skin colour and scarring can occur. Eye protection is worn throughout.
